13 'You are salt for the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can make it salty again? It is good for nothing, and can only be thrown out to be trampled under people's feet. 14 'You are light for the world. A city built on a hill-top cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp to put it under a tub; they put it on the lamp-stand where it shines for everyone in the house. 16 In the same way your light must shine in people's sight, so that, seeing your good works, they may give praise to your Father in heaven.

၁၃ သင္တို႔သည္ ဤေလာက၏ဆားျဖစ္ၾက၏။ ဆားမူကား၊ အငန္ကင္းေပ်ာက္လွ်င္ ငန္ေသာအရသာ ကို အဘယ္သို႔ရျပန္မည္နည္း။ ျပင္သို႔ပစ္လိုက္၍ေက်ာ္နင္းျခင္းမွတပါး အဘယ္အသံုးမွ်မဝင္။
၁၄ သင္တို႔သည္ ဤေလာ က၏အလင္းျဖစ္ၾက၏။ ေတာင္ထိပ္၌တည္ေသာၿမိဳ႔ကိုမကြယ္ႏိုင္။ ၁၅ ဆီမီးထြန္း၍ ေတာင္းဇလား ေအာက္၌ဖံုးထားေလ့မရွိ။ အိမ္သူအိမ္သားအေပါင္းတို႔သည္ အလင္းကိုရေစျခင္းငွါ ဆီမီးခံုေပၚမွာ တင္ထားေလ့ရွိ၏။ ၁၆ ထိုနည္းတူ၊ သူတပါးတို႔သည္ သင္တို႔၏ေကာင္းေသာအက်င့္ကိုျမင္၍၊ ေကာင္းကင္ဘံု၌ ရွိေတာ္မူေသာ သင္တို႔အဘ၏ဂုဏ္ေတာ္ကို ခ်ီးမြမ္းေစျခင္းငွါ၊ သူတပါးေရွ႔၌သင္တို႔အလင္းကိုလင္း ေစၾကေလာ့။
